REVIEWS
of this album.... WHOLE LIFE TIMES: From Sydney, New Age composer - Japetus
- similar in style to Kitaro and Vangelis, has released two very good
albums 'The Great Great Silence' and 'Once Around The Sun'. Melodic interpretations
of natural cycles within and without using synthesisers to create a peaceful,
spacious yet awe inspiring atmosphere. As good or better than Kitaro,
this is by far the best New Age music to emerge from an Australian composer
so far.

Lifecycles
of the solar system...
ONCE
AROUND THE SUN
Once
Around The Sun is the story of the seasons and, correspondingly,
the cycles of life - death - and rebirth of Earth's inhabitants.
It is a very vibrant, bright and crystalline album and is not
so much for relaxation as it is for creative visualisations.
It was the second album in the series and still quite experimental.
Even though Once Around The Sun is much more melodic than The
Great Great Silence, it is still very raw and new. All
around and about us, we live in natural cycles of re-becoming. Our
life is not minutes and seconds. It is four seasons, filled
with a multitude of days and nights.... always returning, in
essence, a little wiser and a little greater, the same yet changed..
We live in the body of the Sun and are guided and governed by
It's principles of light, orbit and gravity, divine nurture
and love. These
cycles condition our lives and our responses to life and even
the endless nature of our re-becoming on this planetary center
within It's body. The Sun is the result of a great force from
beyond, penetrating this dark space for some burgeoning Divine
Purpose over billions of 'years'. Once Around The Sun creates
an electric environment in which to reflect on life in this
solar system and the energies that wash over us as we spin in
endless cycles through time and space.
